Terracon Announces New National Director, Douglas Baum, P.E.
CINCINNATI, Ohio - Terracon announces the addition of Douglas Baum, P.E., as a national director and property condition assessment practice leader. In this role, Baum will be responsible for providing management and business development primarily within Terracon's Facilities service line.
Baum brings to Terracon more than 23 years of experience that includes management of over 1,000 engineering, consulting, and construction projects that have been performed throughout the United States and abroad.
Baum's project experience includes supporting all stages of the "facility lifecycle" that include acquisition, construction/renovation, operations and maintenance, and deposition and repurposing. He has conducted various services related to facility due diligence, asset management, construction, and maintenance.
Baum is a licensed professional engineer in Ohio and is certified as a Business Energy Professional (BEP). He has a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati.

Jordan joins Terracon's Raleigh office
RALEIGH, N.C. --- Michael Jordan, P.G., has joined Terracon as a senior geologist. He will be based in Terracon's Raleigh office. Jordan will be responsible for management of clients with a focus on expansion of remediation services to state and federal government agencies. Additionally, he will serve as a technical resource for projects requiring regulatory negotiations, vapor intrusion, and remediation.
Jordan has more than 13 years of consulting experience. Prior to joining Terracon, he was responsible for the management of several indefinite delivery, indefinite quality contracts with state and federal agencies. His main technical focus is on investigation and remediation of impacts from chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides, and metals in a variety of media. Additionally, he brings a wealth of remediation experience implementing various technologies including ERD, ISCO, SVE, and pump and treat, as well as more innovative remedies such as nZVI and phytoremediation. His regulatory knowledge covers RCRA and CERCLA, as well as many state programs.
Jordan is a licensed geologist in North Carolina. He currently serves on an advisory board for the Water Resources Research Institute, which is funded by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) to support research related to water resources. He earned a Master of Science in marine, earth, and atmospheric sciences, a bachelor's degree in geology, and a bachelor's degree in earth science from North Carolina State University.

Terracon Announces Vice President/National Director, John Juenger, P.E.
Olathe, Kan.- Terracon announces the addition of John Juenger, P.E., as vice president, national director of oil and gas. In this role, Juenger will be responsible for providing management and business development within Terracon's four main service lines (i.e., Environmental, Facilities, Geotechnical, and Materials) for oil and gas clients.
Juenger brings to Terracon more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas market working in both upstream and downstream service areas. His background includes regional as well as international projects in Mexico, Canada, Australia, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.
Juenger has performed consulting services on numerous projects in the energy, oil and gas, and ports/marine sectors involving major oil refineries, LNG facilities, geo-hazard and seismic studies, geophysical studies, marine ports and terminals, and pipeline routing and selection projects.
Juenger is a licensed professional engineer in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Kansas, and Missouri. He has a Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering and a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri - Rolla.

Terracon Foundation Awards Scholarship to Tennessee Student
LEBANON, Tenn. - The Terracon Foundation awarded local student, Joseph Cummins, a scholarship to assist him in earning a bachelor's degree in history at Middle Tennessee State University with an interdisciplinary minor in Native American Studies.
The Terracon Foundation provides the children and dependents of Terracon employees the opportunity to continue their education through scholarship assistance. The foundation presents scholarship awards up to $2,000 per student with total scholarship awards up to $25,000.
Cummins is the son of Terracon employee, Debra Cummins, who is part of the administrative staff of the Nashville, Tenn., office. Cummins thanked the foundation for awarding the scholarship to her son.
"Thank you for selecting my son to be a recipient of the Terracon Scholarship," Cummins said. "Joseph is very dedicated to pursuing his career goals. It is great to know that his efforts, hard work and perseverance are supported by Terracon."
The younger Cummins also expressed his gratitude for the scholarship.
"I am honored to be a recipient of the Terracon Foundation Scholarship," Cummins said. "I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for Terracon's generosity and assistance in achieving my goals and furthering my academic career."
The Terracon Foundation was established in 2008 with a goal of investing more in the community. The program expanded considerably during 2012 to provide a broader range of grant opportunities throughout the country. In addition to employee dependent scholarships, The Terracon Foundation also provides national partner grants, university grants, and community grants.

Terracon Foundation Awards Scholarship to Arizona Student
FLAGSTAFF, Arizona - The Terracon Foundation awarded local student, Fallon Polich, a scholarship to assist her in earning a bachelor's degree in biology at Northern Arizona University.
The Terracon Foundation provides the children and dependents of Terracon employees the opportunity to continue their education through scholarship assistance. The foundation presents scholarship awards up to $2,000 per student with total scholarship awards up to $25,000.
Polich is the daughter of Terracon employee, Tracy Tefft, who is a marketing coordinator for the North Rocky Mountain Region. Tefft thanked the foundation for the scholarship.
"I want to thank Terracon for selecting Fallon as a recipient of The Terracon Foundation Scholarship," Tefft said. "It was a great surprise to learn that she would be receiving the scholarship. The generosity of Terracon will enable Fallon to continue her education."
Polich also thanked the foundation for the scholarship.
"Thank you for providing me with your support and encouragement during my academic career," Polich said. "This scholarship has given me the opportunity to rise above limitations and reach my goals."
