Terracon Foundation Awards $5,000 Grant to Maui Strong Fund for Wildfire Disaster Relief

OLATHE, Kan. — The Terracon Foundation has made a $5,000 grant to the Maui Strong Fund to provide emergency funding for shelter, food, and financial assistance to meet community needs in the aftermath of the devastating wildfires that struck the island of Maui on Aug. 8, 2023.

“Our hearts are with the citizens of Maui who are recovering from the impacts of the recent wildfires,” said Terracon chair, president, and CEO Gayle Packer. “Terracon and our employee-owners are honored to support relief efforts for this catastrophic event.”

In response to the recent wildfires on Maui, the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation has activated the Maui Strong Fund to provide flexible resources to support Maui residents. Funding will address evolving needs, including shelter, food, financial assistance, and other services as they are identified by on-the-ground partners doing critical work on Maui. You can donate to the Maui Strong Fund by visiting hawaiicommunityfoundation.org/maui-strong.

Terracon Foundation Awards Over $192,300 in University and Community Grants

OLATHE, Kan. — The Terracon Foundation today announced the award of $192,300 in grants and scholarships to 13 universities and 17 not-for-profit organizations throughout the U.S. Established as the community investment arm of Terracon, the foundation has granted nearly $4 million to community organizations, universities, scholarships for dependents of employees, and disaster relief efforts.

“The Terracon Foundation continues to be impressed with our employee-owners, who diligently champion grants for the nonprofits and schools near and dear to their hearts,” said Scott Kolodziej, P.G., chair of the Terracon Foundation and assistant environmental service line director based in the Dallas office. “Their commitment to our value of caring allows us to support engineering schools, youth STEM education, and more.”

The Terracon Foundation presented a total of $132,500 to 13 universities:

Terracon Acquires PMI of Arkansas

Clients in the South and Southeastern U.S. to benefit from expanded services and resources

OLATHE, Kan. – Terracon, an employee-owned firm with a long history of providing excellence in engineering consulting services, is pleased to announce it has acquired Pollution Management Inc. (PMI), an engineering and environmental services firm with locations in Little Rock and Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Since its founding in 1988, PMI has provided a range of engineering, environmental and field services to clients. The firm’s team is comprised of professional engineers and geologists, environmental scientists, and construction/remediation specialists who work together to provide turnkey projects throughout Arkansas and the surrounding states.

“PMI enhances and strengthens our engineering and consulting practice in Arkansas and brings in- house construction capabilities that support our design services,” said Gayle Packer, Terracon chair, president, and CEO. “We are pleased to welcome them to Terracon as we grow and continually evolve how we help solve our clients’ challenges.”

PMI’s 37 employees will immediately become part of Terracon. The firm will continue to operate locally as Pollution Management Inc., A Terracon Company, and the transition will be seamless for clients. The new acquisition is supported by Terracon’s existing operations in Little Rock and Rogers, Arkansas; Springfield and Joplin, Missouri; and Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma.

PMI is Terracon’s second acquisition in 2023, and its 19th acquisition since the beginning of 2017.

The transaction was brokered by Generational Equity of Dallas, Texas. Laura Register,P.E., has been promoted to director of business sectors. She works with leaders to achieve growth, develop diverse services for markets, and collaborate with teams to drive client experience and project delivery. Terracon Announces Key National Accounts Promotion

Jared Mechetti promoted to director of national accounts

Jared Mechetti, P.E., has been promoted to director of national accounts. In the role, Mechetti focuses on national accounts program strategy and leadership of the company’s national account managers. He collaborates with national account managers, service line directors, and operations to drive client experience and project delivery. Mechetti joined Terracon in 2018 as a senior national account manager focused on national mission critical and digital infrastructure clients, and in 2020 was promoted to technology sector national director. He is based in Terracon’s Sacramento, California office.
