Terracon Announces Key Organizational Changes
New leadership changes position the company for continued growth
OLATHE, Kan. — Terracon, a nationally known and respected consulting engineering firm, announces several strategic organizational changes designed to guide the company as it continues its pattern of growth.
Bob Cords, P.E., is now national director overseeing the leadership of the company’s transportation and infrastructure, oil and gas, and logistics business sectors. Based in Terracon’s Jacksonville, Fla., office, Cords has more than 35 years of engineering industry experience in operations management, client development, and project management. Recently, he served as a senior national account manager focused primarily on Terracon’s logistics clients, and has been a business sector lead and division manager.
David Lipka, P.E., is now national director for transportation and infrastructure.Lipka has more than 35 years of experience in geotechnical and materials engineering services with much of that experience focused on transportation and infrastructure projects. He has been serving as the national program manager for transportation and infrastructure focused predominantly in the eastern operating group, and has led pursuits for projects nationwide. Lipka is based in Terracon’s Charlotte, N.C., office.
Mohammad Nasim, Ph.D., P.E., is now national director for geodesign services. A principal engineer with extensive experience working with federal, state, and local agencies, Nasim has led projects throughout the U.S., as well as internationally. His design and construction experience includes deep foundations, support of excavations, underpinning, ground improvement, numerical modeling, and seismic analyses. He is based in Terracon’s DC Metro North office in Germantown, Md.
R. Sean Williams is now national manager of laboratory services. Based in Terracon’s Chattanooga, Tenn., office, Williams is leading the company’s plans for the growth of its laboratory services and providing technical support to operations. Williams brings more than 28 years of experience in laboratory and quality management experience to this role, including laboratory accreditation, and operation, development, and implementation of quality management systems.

Terracon and Girl Scouts of NE Kansas and NW Missouri Partner for LIVE STEAM Event Nov. 8
Unique event encourages girls to learn through hands-on workshops
OLATHE, Kan. – Terracon Consultants, Inc., and Girl Scouts of NE Kansas and NW Missouri (GSKSMO) announce they have partnered to present the first LIVE STEAM event at Union Station’s Science City in Kansas City, Mo., on the evening of Friday, Nov. 8. More than 200 local fourth and fifth grade Girl Scouts will be participating in this unique educational experience.
The event encourages girls to explore the world of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) through hands-on workshops and activity stations presented by local educators, professionals, and organizations with a focus on how they live STEAM in their professional and personal lives.
“Terracon is excited to partner with GSKSMO to support, encourage, and inspire interest in STEAM careers among girls as they prepare for a lifetime of leadership in STEAM fields,” said Gayle Packer, Terracon president and CEO. More than 40 employee-owners from Terracon’s offices in Olathe and Lenexa, Kan., are volunteering for the event.
“Girl Scouts is committed to adding 2.5 million girls to the STEM pipeline by 2025. With the help of STEM leaders like Terracon, this pledge can become a reality,” said Joy Wheeler, GSKSMO CEO.
“Science City is thrilled to host the inaugural LIVE STEAM event for area Girl Scouts presented by Terracon Consultants,” said LeAnn Smith, Director of STEM Programming and Outreach for Science City. ”We know the importance and value of providing young people, especially girls, the opportunity to experience a wide variety of science-based activities that engage their minds, expand their horizons and open the future to infinite possibilities.”

Terracon Foundation Awards $5,000 Grant to Heart to Heart International for Hurricane Dorian Relief
OLATHE, Kan. — The Terracon Foundation announced a $5,000 grant to Heart to Heart International for Hurricane Dorian relief efforts, to support deployment of medical teams to treat patients and administer vaccines to those impacted by the storm.
“Terracon is pleased to support Heart to Heart in its efforts to provide urgently needed medical care to the people in the Bahamas still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Dorian,” said Gayle Packer, Terracon president and CEO. “We value the opportunity to give back to those who need critical assistance at this time.”

Terracon Names Russell Clark as National Manager of Construction Consulting Services
DALLAS — Terracon, a nationally known and respected consulting engineering firm, has named Russell Clark, AIA, national manager of construction consulting services.
“Terracon is a fantastic environment to continue my career as a building consultant -- I especially enjoy working with talented professionals who are dedicated to delivering quality service to our clients in the construction lending sector,” Clark said.
Clark has more than 20 years of experience as a registered architect, a commercial property and facility condition assessment provider, and a building envelope design and construction consultant. He earned his bachelor of environmental design degree from Texas A&M University. He holds International Code Council certifications, and is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Association of Commercial Building Inspectors.
