Pounds Joins Terracon's Facilities Division

TULSA, Okla. --- David Pounds, P.E., has joined Terracon as a project manager for the Facilities department, and is based out of Terracon's Tulsa office. In his role, Pounds is responsible for managing the Facilities services for Terracon's Tulsa and Oklahoma City offices.

Pounds bring more than 12 years of experience and a unique combination of design and construction expertise to his new role. As a project manager for both major renovation and new construction, his experience includes construction of all major types of structural and HVAC systems, as well as the most prevalent building envelope systems. He has worked with owners and architects in conducting accurate project estimates, value analysis, life cycle cost analysis, document reviews, and condition studies for multi-million dollar health care, education, leisure, airport, and office building projects.

Pounds is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and the University of Missouri, Rolla. He is a certified energy manager (CEM) and a LEED Green Associate. He holds a green advantage environmental certification and is a Construction Specifications Institute construction documents technologist (CDT).

Tyndall Joins Terracon's Charlotte Office

OLATHE, Kan. --- Sharon M. Tyndall, P.E., has joined Terracon's Charlotte office as a national account manager. In her role, Tyndall is responsible for maintaining and growing select national accounts. Tyndall has more than 24 years of experience in the engineering industry developing and maintaining client relationships, as well as managing a diversity of engineering projects.

Tyndall earned her master's degree and bachelor's degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. She is a licensed professional engineer in North Carolina.

Terracon Announces Terracon Foundation Grant Recipients

OLATHE, Kan. --- The Terracon Foundation recently awarded 15 community grants and three university grants nationwide. The program is the result of an expansion of the Terracon Foundation in 2012.

In 2008, Terracon partnered with the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation to establish the Terracon Foundation, a corporate philanthropy initiative. In 2012, Terracon announced the foundation was expanding in a big way, including opportunities for employees to improve their lives and that of their families and communities. The expanded program includes national partner grants, community grants, university grants and employee scholarships.

"With the need for a well-educated workforce, ensuring sustainable, quality university programs and opportunities for bright students was the focal point of the foundation in the beginning," said David Gaboury, P.E., Terracon president and CEO. "Our goal moving forward is to each out and become a real part of the lives of our employees and the communities we serve."

The Terracon Foundation will present national partner grants (supporting national non-profit organizations nominated by employees, and employee scholarships) and employee scholarships (providing the children and dependents of employees the opportunity to continue their education through scholarship assistance) in the summer of 2013.

Davis Joins Terracon's Atlanta Office

OLATHE, Kan.--- Stephanie Davis has joined Terracon's Atlanta office as a client business development specialist. In her role, Davis is responsible for communicating Terracon's technical capabilities and qualifications to present and potential clients in Georgia; searching for business opportunities for the firm; and developing and executing development and retention programs.

Davis has more than 19 years of experience in sales, business development and management. Thirteen of those years, she's worked within the A/E/C industry. Davis has led business development efforts for geotechnical, construction materials testing and special inspections services. She has also developed successful strategies for project wins, team development and proposal generation.

Davis has a bachelor's degree in marketing from Auburn University in Auburn, Ala.

Highly-Reputable Companies Change Names to Terracon

OLATHE, Kan. --- ESA Energy Systems Associates, Inc., Nodarse & Associates, Inc., and NTL Engineering & Geoscience officially changed their names to Terracon Consultants, Inc. on January 1, 2013. Terracon is one of the nation's largest employee-owned engineering consulting firms with headquarters in Olathe, Kan.

All three companies, who Terracon acquired since 2008, will now operate as Terracon.

"We are excited these three companies are part of Terracon," said David Gaboury, P.E., president and CEO of Terracon. "They each bring unique talents and capabilities that provide added value to our employees and clients."

ESA Energy Systems Associates, Inc.

ESA is based in Round Rock, Texas, and joined Terracon in May 2010. As Terracon, they will continue to offer energy management and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design services.

Since its establishment in 1982, ESA has provided professional services for more than 500 facilities nationwide. Most of the firm's design projects have been the direct result of Investment Grade Energy Audits. ESA is also heavily involved in energy management consulting and commissioning for schools, hospitals, commercial and industrial clients.

James Brown, P.E., president of ESA, will continue to serve as regional manager for Terracon's Houston and Round Rock offices.

Nodarse & Associates, Inc.

Nodarse, headquartered in Winter Park, Fla., joined Terracon in April 2011. As Terracon, they will continue to offer environmental, geotechnical, construction materials engineering and testing and threshold inspection services.

Established in 1991, Nodarse offers specialized engineering services throughout Florida serving thousands of public and private sector clients. Nodarse has completed numerous high-profile projects including The Amway Center in Orlando, Nemours Children's Hospital in Orlando, Signature Place in Tampa, Miami Multimodal Center and I-10/I-95 Interchange in Jacksonville.

Leila Nodarse, P.E., served as president of Nodarse and will continue to serve as senior client development manager for the entire state of Florida.

NTL Engineering & Geoscience

Based in Great Falls, Mont., NTL joined Terracon in November 2008. As Terracon, they will continue to offer geotechnical, environmental and construction materials services.

Since its establishment in 1991, NTL offers professional engineering services throughout Montana and the Northwest U.S. NTL serves a number of public and private sector clients. Sector clients include agribusiness, commercial, government, industrial, power generation and transmission, medical and telecommunications.

Gary Quinn, P.E., who served as NTL's president and senior geotechnical engineer, will continue to serve as office manager for Terracon's Great Falls office.
