COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — The Terracon Foundation has announced a $5,000 grant to Tennessee Technological University. The grant will be used to create the Terracon Foundation Annual STEAM Scholarship for Diversity and Inclusion for students representing the diverse student populations who are pursuing a career in science, technology, engineering, art, or mathematics (STEAM).
Founded in 1915, Tennessee Technological University (Tennessee Tech) is the state’s only public technological university. With an enrollment of more than 10,000 students, the university offers degrees from eight academic schools and colleges: agriculture and human ecology, arts and sciences, business, education, engineering, fine arts, interdisciplinary studies, and nursing.
“Tennessee Tech has a longstanding reputation of producing graduates with an excellent work ethic and the ability to problem solve,” said John Agee, P.E., regional manager in Terracon’s Nashville office, who championed the grant. “Terracon is pleased to support the university’s students by funding a scholarship with the goal of recruiting and retaining diverse students.
