Terracon’s Las Vegas office has provided geotechnical, environmental, and construction materials engineering and testing services since 1993 and maintains a diversified staff of qualified and experienced engineers, geologists, and environmental scientists. The local Terracon team has more than 30 employees and has played an integral part in the successful completion of a wide variety of public and private projects throughout Nevada.
In addition to more than 25 major high-rise hotel casinos in Las Vegas, including the Venetian, Cosmopolitan, Planet Hollywood, Caesar’s Palace, and The Palms, the office has been involved in numerous transportation projects, including Nevada’s first design-build transportation project. Terracon has also completed a number of industrial, commercial office complexes, and major public works projects for the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, McCarran International Airport, Southern Nevada Water Authority, Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority, and other agencies.
Terracon’s Las Vegas office has led the local geotechnical market with innovative, economical, and efficient methods of ground improvement and foundation design since opening. The Las Vegas office was the first to employ design concepts using drilled cast-in-place concrete shafts, secant pile walls, tiebacks, soil nails, micropile foundations, and micropile ground improvement in Southern Nevada.
Terracon’s environmental professionals provide environmental services including: Phase I environmental site assessments, investigation/risk based corrective action, remediation, asbestos/lead-based paint, industrial hygiene, brownfields, regulatory compliance, telecommunications, NEPA/natural and cultural resources, and solid waste. The Las Vegas office maintains a fully-equipped 8,200-square-foot, AASHTO/IAS/CCRL accredited laboratory, providing complete geotechnical and construction materials engineering and testing services for soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry, steel, and asphalt. Terracon also maintains two drill rigs in Las Vegas. Terracon’s Las Vegas office has been working with Terracon corporate Transportation and Infrastructure Sector and the Northwest Division to develop opportunities in Canada. Currently, Terracon is pursuing design-build transportation projects in Vancouver, Edmonton, and Saskatoon.
