Earlier this year, The Terracon Foundation announced a $25,000 national partner grant to The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) to help support its SWENEXT program to engage the next generation of female engineers. Recently, four women engineers working at Terracon participated in the SWE A Day In The Life of an Engineer Video Series to encourage future female students to consider engineering as a career choice.
The videos not only cover what interested the women in pursuing engineering as a career, but also helps viewers get to see them as well-rounded people with a variety of interests outside of work. The videos were produced for girls who might be participating in a STEM curriculum or who might be interesting in learning about engineering from young women already in the field.
SWE has nearly 40,000 members, 100 professional sections, 300 student sections, and global affiliates throughout the United States and around the world.
