Terracon Foundation Awards Grant to Sister-to-Sister Women's Ministry
WINTER PARK, Fla. --- The Terracon Foundation recently awarded a community grant to Sister-to-Sister Women's Ministry. The grant will be used to provide the proper nutrition and other essential necessities to families in need.
The Terracon Foundation community grant supports local, nonprofit programs with active engagement of Terracon employees in communities where they live and work.
The mission of the 501(c)(3) organization is to provide an outreach center that serves the needs of women in the community. The faith-based organization is dedicated to providing an awareness of diversity in areas of cultural diversity, recreation, and education.
Velecia Crawford, from Terracon's Winter Park office, is involved with the organization and championed the grant. Ruth Taylor, president and CEO of Sister-to-Sister, proudly accepted the award.
"I'm very excited to be able to include the Terracon Foundation as one of the guardian angels that has helped support our Sister-to-Sister Women's Ministry and the hundreds of women, children, and families we support throughout the year," said Taylor.
The Terracon Foundation was established in 2008 and expanded considerably in 2012 to provide a broader range of grant opportunities. The Terracon Foundation also provides national partner grants, university grants, and employee-dependent scholarships.

Verity Joins Terracon's Dallas Office as National Account Manager
DALLAS, Texas --- Andrew C. Verity has joined Terracon as a National Account Manager based out of Terracon's Dallas office. Andrew is responsible for select accounts that have national needs and high volume. He will coordinate national client projects among the more than 140 Terracon offices and will also act as a liaison between the client and internal personnel to ensure that the needs of the client are consistently met, on time.
Verity brings more than 20 years of geotechnical engineering and business development experience to his new position. He comes to Terracon from Gerdau Long Steel North America, where he held business development responsibilities that encompassed all of North America. Before that, he held geotechnical engineering and management positions of increasing responsibility in Europe and in the U.S.
Verity earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in civil engineering, from the University of London, and he attended Cambridge University (Kings College) on a research scholarship. He currently serves as chairman for the Driven Pile Committee with the Deep Foundations Institute.

Terracon and RGA Environmental Join Forces to Expand and Enhance Service Offerings to Clients in the Western U.S.
OLATHE, Kan. --- Terracon Consultants, Inc. is pleased to announce the acquisition of RGA Environmental, Inc. for an undisclosed price. The newly acquired firm is based in Emeryville, Calif. This is the second acquisition in California for Terracon this year.
Established in 1985, RGA Environmental provides hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, safety, emergency response, litigation, and environmental construction management services to public and private sector clients. The firm has additional offices located in Irvine, Calif., and Seattle, Wash.
"The acquisition of RGA Environmental further reinforces our strategy to grow our presence, expertise, and service offerings to clients in California and other parts of the West Coast," said David Gaboury, P.E., president and CEO of Terracon. "The depth of their expertise will bring even greater value to our clients. We are pleased to have them become a part of Terracon."
The company will continue to operate as RGA Environmental, A Terracon Company. Terracon is retaining RGA's 65 employees.

Terracon and Neil O. Anderson and Associates Join Forces to Expand and Enhance Service Offerings to Clients in Northern California
OLATHE, Kan. --- Terracon Consultants, Inc. is pleased to announce the acquisition of Neil O. Anderson and Associates based in Lodi, Calif.
Founded in 1991, Neil O. Anderson and Associates is a geotechnical, environmental, and materials testing engineering firm specializing in energy, geotechnical instrumentation, geophysical methods, federal highways, and aquatic facility design services for private and public sector clients. They have additional offices located in Sacramento and Concord, Calif.

Terracon Awards $50K Grant to ACE Mentor Program of America
Olathe, Kan. and Fairfax, Va. - The ACE Mentor Program was awarded a $50,000 grant from the Terracon Foundation to help underwrite a national best practices conference for its 69 affiliates that provide free after school programs designed to reach high school students and encourage them to pursue careers in architecture, engineering, and construction.
Speaking about the National Partnership award, David R. Gaboury, P.E., President and CEO of Terracon, said, "We are very pleased to support the Ace Mentor Program. Its purpose and track record of success is contributing greatly to the future."
The ACE conference will convene in Chicago on June 22-23. It is the first national gathering of affiliate leaders and mentors since 2008. They will share and discuss best practices related to fundraising, board development, and mentor recruitment, among other topics.
"ACE is honored to receive this generous grant," said John Strock, ACE's Executive Director. "ACE enjoys partnerships with many of the leading companies in the design/construction industry. We are delighted to add Terracon as an ACE supporter."
Strock also noted, "ACE and Terracon operate branches and affiliates in many of the same locations. We hope to attract more Terracon employees to join the ranks of our 2,500 active mentors."
